David Wells-Cole [guitar, vocals, mandolin]
David’s love of traditional music originated in the Dublin folk revival of the 1960s. He was a resident singer at London’s Dingle’s Club in the 1970s and has performed with a range of groups and ensembles; he is also very keen on choral music and has sung with several choirs in England and abroad. David is fluent in Spanish and French, having taught these subjects for many years.

Freyja Cox Jensen [violin, vocals]
Freyja works as an historian, formerly at Christ Church, Oxford, and now at the University of Exeter; she specialises in early modern British history. Freyja sings and plays various melody instruments, and has performed and recorded with several groups in numerous genres, ranging from traditional music to renaissance polyphony.

Oskar Cox Jensen [guitar, vocals, drum]
Freyja’s brother Oskar is an historian, author and songwriter. For his current project on 19th century ballad singers he is based in the Music Department of King’s College London; his doctorate on ‘Napoleon and British Popular Song, 1797 – 1822’ was undertaken at Christ Church, Oxford.

Peter Brown [violin, vocals, guitar]
Peter Brown is a journalist with a love of traditional music that began in the folk clubs of his youth, where he was a regular performer. Fascinated by the origins of popular song, he recently took an MA in medieval history at the Royal Holloway College. He also sings in choirs and plays the viola with the West London Strings.
